From this they earned studio time and recorded their first professional demo "Yellow Tape" In 1997, after gaining experience from recording two albums in the studio of their school, the sisters went on to enter a competition which was called "Garage Warz" where they in fact won. in 1995 they decided to form a band, this band was known as Plunk and simply consisted of the two, they in fact had no bass player or even a drummer. Tegan and Sare began playing guitar and writing their own songs from the age of 15 and ever since then they have been making music.
